I know what my Thursday night will be like
On Saturday I was at the Bradfield shops with my friend as it was one of those lazy days. Only to come across some sweet soulful music being played by this live band. I have never heard of them but their music was so familiar as if the they had been music I listen to on a daily basis.
The group is called The Outfit. And like a perfect fitting suit you should try them out. If anyone is interested and is in Bulawayo, they should try and make your way to Horizon Bar and Lounge- Restaurant o the 27th of March as they are having an Album Launch Concert. Doors open at 7pm. Hopefully I can also get a chance to interview them. Entrance is only $5 but it is worth every penny

Calabash art work
In this work, I feel that Tendayi expresses emotion of sadness and being lost.
In this calabash art work, he manages to express the image in a full figured and fertile design. In tradition the wife normally brings her husband his calabash before him to drink his traditional beer, this brings an element of servitude in a relationship.
This image seems to be a fusion of different symbols put together,i see a woman on top defining that woman have the ability to lead and overcome patriarchal society and still fulfill the role in traditional society.

A trophy
Tendayi calls this the Trophy and furthermore it is in the figure of an African woman nothing more beautiful can be selected to highlight one's accomplishments. The fruitfulness of true beauty captured here
Stigmatized
This is art work with more than a meaning as it looks at and shows the stigma that surrounds HIV AIDS
Works about mbira
This is a CD rack, with an African musical touch
This work of art to me gives the view of man serenading his loved one with the magical notes of the mbira, This an artistic reflection of romance
I appreciate his attention to detail
Some more art work of the mbira imagery

Eagle Works
A ceramic eagle as done by Tendayi
Hand crafted with great care and precision, very impressive
I personally cannot help but to feel that Tendayi puts a part of himself in the ceramic art works, his works can actually be seen in town. This actual piece of work of the eagle, was for eagle life ministries. The attention to detail is phenomenal and and actually if you look at the first picture you will see how the fish is being gripped by the talons of the eagle.
